Job Summary
To support the community's benefit programs, the full-time Virginia Licensed Benefit Specialist will manage a caseload, determine eligibility for assistance programs, and provide exceptional customer service while working in an inclusive team environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Interview applicants and determine eligibility for various assistance programs using automated and manual methods
- Compile and analyze information to ensure clients receive maximum eligible benefits while maintaining accurate records
- Respond to appeal requests and participate in appeal hearings, providing necessary documentation and summaries
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma supplemented with additional training and related work experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Strongly preferred: Bachelor's degree and direct eligibility experience
- Experience working effectively within a team environment
- Ability to travel occasionally and meet the County's safe driver policy requirements
- Experience working with populations with limited English proficiency is a plus
