Virginia Licensed Coding Operations Manager

Job Summary

To lead coding operations for UVA Health, the full-time salaried Virginia Licensed Coding Operations Manager will manage daily coding activities, oversee coding supervisors and staff, and ensure compliance with operational performance metrics in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of inpatient and outpatient coding operations
• Manage coding supervisors and coding support staff
• Monitor DNFB and operational KPIs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of hospital coding experience, including inpatient coding within a large health system
• 3-5 years of leadership experience managing coding operations or large coding teams
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRG, and APR-DRG reimbursement methodologies
• Active coding certification through either AHIMA or AAPC
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
