Job Summary
Supporting Neurosurgery Professional Billing, the fully remote Virginia Licensed Coding Specialist will independently review, code, validate, and audit complex surgical procedures and E/M services while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and payer guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Independently review and code complex Neurosurgery surgical and office-based procedures, inpatient encounters, and E/M services
- Analyze provider documentation for complete and compliant code assignment using CPT, ICD-10-CM, and payer-specific guidelines
- Collaborate with providers and revenue cycle professionals to promote accurate reimbursement and regulatory compliance
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of relevant coding experience
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
- Advanced knowledge of Neurosurgery operative services and diagnostic procedures
- Experience with Epic and EncoderPro for coding and charge review
