Virginia Licensed English Adjunct

Job Summary

To promote student learning in a variety of academic settings, the part-time Virginia Licensed English Adjunct will plan, organize, and teach English courses, providing timely feedback and engaging with students both in-person and remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Create a supportive learning environment that facilitates knowledge and skill acquisition
• Align course activities with learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies to enhance student engagement
• Deliver instruction and conduct assessments in accordance with college policies, providing meaningful feedback on student performance

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in English or a graduate degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English
• Teaching experience at the college level
• Knowledge of learning management systems, such as CANVAS
• Familiarity with effective teaching strategies that promote student success
• Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes
