Virginia Licensed ESL Adjunct Instructor

Job Summary

To support diverse student learning needs, the part-time Virginia Licensed ESL Adjunct Instructor will plan, organize, and teach English as a Second Language courses in person, remotely via Zoom, or online, while providing timely feedback and engaging with students outside of class.

Key responsibilities

• Create a learning environment that facilitates knowledge and skill acquisition in ESL
• Align course activities with learning outcomes and employ active learning strategies to enhance student engagement
• Deliver instruction and conduct assessments while adhering to college policies and providing meaningful feedback to students

Required qualifications

• Master's Degree with 18 graduate semester hours in English as a Second Language (TESOL)
• Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format
• Teaching experience at the college level
• Knowledge of CANVAS or other learning management systems
• Proven teaching strategies that promote student success
