Virginia Licensed Gastrointestinal Coder

Job Summary

To support revenue integrity and compliance, the fully remote Virginia Licensed Gastrointestinal Coder will independently review and code complex clinical documentation for surgical procedures, office-based services, and Evaluation & Management encounters.

Key responsibilities

• Independently review and code complex gastrointestinal surgical procedures and office-based encounters
• Apply advanced knowledge of coding guidelines, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and payer-specific requirements
• Identify documentation gaps and coding risks while collaborating with providers for clarification as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of relevant coding experience required
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
