Virginia Licensed HIMS Coding Auditor

Job Summary

To ensure the quality of coded data, the full-time Virginia Licensed HIMS Coding Auditor will perform audits on outpatient and inpatient records, maintain coding compliance, and provide education to team members while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Ensures coding compliance by applying guidelines and standards for accurate coding
• Identifies training needs and provides education, coaching, and mentoring to coding staff
• Performs focused reviews and quality audits, preparing reports for leadership

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 5-6 years of Acute Care Inpatient and Outpatient Coding experience (Required)
• 2 years of Auditing experience in Acute Care (Required)
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification (Required)
• Associates Degree in Healthcare or related field (Preferred)
