Virginia Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

To support a new psychiatry service for youth in foster care, the part-time to full-time Virginia Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will conduct psychiatric evaluations, collaborate with a therapy team, and manage medication for children and adolescents remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial psychiatric evaluations and follow-up medication management via video
• Build treatment plans that integrate medication with evidence-based therapy
• Coordinate with therapists and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings for comprehensive care

Required Qualifications

• PMHNP-BC certification
• Active RN and APRN licenses valid in Virginia
• Active DEA registration or eligibility for each state of practice
• Three or more years of experience in psychiatric evaluation and medication management for children and adolescents
• Experience treating youth with trauma histories and complex medication needs
