Virginia Licensed Trades Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, the full-time Virginia Licensed Trades Technician will support a safe and attractive campus environment by performing preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and general building repairs at the Midlothian campus.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
• Assist with general building repairs and setups, while maintaining inventory of parts and materials
• Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track work and maintain records

Required qualifications:

• Technical training or experience in general facility maintenance and building systems repair
• HVAC journeyman or journeyman license in another trade, with universal CFC Certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Knowledge of facility maintenance principles, materials, and methods
• Ability to use various power, hand, and diagnostic tools effectively
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships
