Virginia Licensed VA Underwriter
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Wholesale DE/VA Underwriter, the fully remote position will manage the underwriting of complex and manual VA loans, requiring strong recent Wholesale/TPO underwriting experience and active FHA DE and VA LAPP/SAR designations.
Key responsibilities
- Underwrite Wholesale/TPO FHA and VA residential mortgage loans, focusing on complex and manual VA underwrites
- Analyze borrower credit, income, assets, liabilities, and overall loan risk, issuing underwriting decisions in accordance with guidelines
- Review VA appraisals and issue Notices of Value (NOVs), communicating decisions clearly with operations and sales teams
Required qualifications
- Recent Wholesale/TPO mortgage underwriting experience
- Active FHA DE designation
- Active VA LAPP/SAR designation
- Must have issued a VA Notice of Value (NOV) within the past 11 months
- Strong recent experience with manual VA underwriting and complex loan scenarios
