Virtual K-8 Reading Tutor
Job Summary
To support students in grades K-8, the part-time Virtual K-8 Reading Tutor will conduct online tutoring sessions focused on reading from a provided curriculum, primarily between 5 PM and 7 PM ET, while working remotely as a 1099-eligible independent contractor.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct consistent, weekly tutoring sessions using pre-designed lesson content
- Build rapport with students to create a supportive and motivating learning environment
- Maintain at least 80% attendance in claimed tutoring sessions to provide stable support for students
Required qualifications
- Experience in classroom teaching, tutoring, or similar student support roles, with a college degree preferred
- Ability to deliver best-practice reading lessons to students often seeking to improve their skills
- Access to a computer, webcam, and a reliable high-speed internet connection of at least 20 mbps
- Must reside and tutor from one of the specified states in the USA
- Experience with online instruction is a plus
