Virtualization Automation Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled Virtualization Automation Engineer to work remotely full-time, responsible for designing, automating, implementing, and managing virtualization services using VMware and OpenShift, ensuring stability, performance, and security of virtualized workloads.
Key responsibilities
- Develop automation solutions for virtualization tasks and implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to enhance platform efficiency
- Implement comprehensive observability solutions and conduct root cause analysis to resolve issues across the global compute environment
- Provide technical consulting for application teams and conduct capacity planning for virtualization platforms
Required qualifications
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience in automation development and IT infrastructure specializing in virtualization solutions
- 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift virtualization
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python for automation
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Terraform, or GitOps
