VMware Consultant
Job Summary
Hands-on and detail-oriented, the contract VMware Consultant will assess and optimize a VMware environment, transitioning from version 7 to 9 while working in a hybrid setting focused on aviation and aerospace component manufacturing.
Key responsibilities
- Support and optimize an air-gapped aircraft-based computing environment, focusing on VMware and ESXi
- Implement improvements and configurations for approximately 12 virtual machines, enhancing long-term operational reliability
- Provide technical direction for potential future migrations to Red Hat KVM and Kubernetes, as well as establish a remote software deployment architecture
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on expertise in VMware and ESXi
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or at least 12 years of related experience without a degree
- Demonstrated ability to make architecture decisions and implement solutions independently
- Experience in optimizing, upgrading, and troubleshooting VMware environments
- Availability to work regularly at the Englewood laboratory
