VP of Large Case Underwriting
Job Summary
Leading the Large Case Unit, the full-time remote VP of Large Case Underwriting will manage underwriting standards, develop client relationships, and oversee large risk assessments to ensure profitable business practices.
Key responsibilities
- Appraises and underwrites large risks for life insurance, exercising full authority to make exceptions to guidelines while maintaining client relationships
- Develops and manages client relationships by providing expert underwriting solutions and effectively communicating underwriting decisions
- Leads the Large Case Unit, providing management responsibilities and development opportunities for team members while ensuring adequate underwriting support
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent related work experience (minimum 8 years)
- 15+ years of reinsurance or direct underwriting experience
- ACS, ALU, FLMI, FALU, or CLU accreditation or progress towards accreditation is preferred
- Highly advanced ability to comprehend and interpret insurance and contract documents
- Expertise in implementing change and managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
