VP of R&D
Job Summary
To lead and scale the engineering organization through its next stage of growth, the full-time remote VP of R&D will manage engineering across Big Data, AI, Geospatial Intelligence, and OSINT, while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the engineering organization, ensuring strong technical direction and leadership across multiple technology domains
- Define and challenge the technical direction, making critical architectural decisions and ensuring alignment with product strategy
- Strengthen execution by translating company strategy into clear engineering priorities, enhancing quality and predictability without adding unnecessary processes
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience leading and scaling a complex engineering organization of approximately 80-150+ engineers
- Strong software engineering and architecture background, particularly in data-intensive and distributed systems
- Proven track record of developing engineering managers and technical leaders into independent leaders
- Experience with Big Data, data fusion, analytics, AI systems, and large-scale data processing
- Strong product mindset with the ability to connect technical decisions to customer and business outcomes
