Job Summary
To lead and scale the engineering organization through its next stage of growth, the full-time remote VP of R&D will manage multiple technology domains, including Big Data, AI, and Geospatial Intelligence, while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the engineering organization across various technology areas, ensuring strong technical direction and leadership
- Translate company and product strategy into clear engineering priorities and outcomes, enhancing execution and delivery
- Drive innovation by challenging existing approaches and fostering an environment for experimentation and technical creativity
Required qualifications
- Significant experience leading and scaling a complex engineering organization of approximately 80-150+ engineers
- Strong software engineering and architecture background, with expertise in Big Data, data fusion, and AI systems
- Proven track record of developing engineering managers and technical leaders into independent leaders
- Experience owning technical strategy and architecture decisions across multiple teams or product areas
- Strong understanding of how AI is transforming software engineering and its application in engineering organizations
