VP of Security

Job Summary

To lead the security strategy at Engine, the full-time salaried VP of Security will build and manage AI security capabilities while overseeing security engineering, operations, and corporate IT in a hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and oversee the AI security function, including the development of an internal AI gateway and agent identity model
• Lead security engineering efforts across AppSec, SecOps, and CloudSec while driving the security roadmap and managing a team
• Own the security narrative for enterprise trust and fundraising, ensuring compliance with SOC 2 and PCI standards

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in security, with 5+ years in leadership roles during periods of hypergrowth
• Strong technical credibility in cloud-native security, including AWS identity and modern AppSec tooling
• Proven ability to build new security functions from the ground up
• Experience with AI security challenges, including prompt injection and data exfiltration
• Executive presence with the ability to engage with boards and enterprise customers effectively
