Vulnerability Detection Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Vulnerability Detection Engineer will conduct vulnerability research, build detection logic for critical vulnerabilities, and collaborate with the Beazley Security Labs team to enhance client security outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct vulnerability research on internet-exposed services and software to identify vulnerable instances
• Monitor vendor advisories and vulnerability disclosures to determine which vulnerabilities require detection coverage
• Author and maintain vulnerability detection logic, ensuring accuracy and accountability for false positive and negative rates

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in writing analytical SQL for large datasets, including joins and regular expression matching
• Working proficiency in Python for data manipulation and automation
• Experience with Git and testing practices in a detection engineering environment
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and common vulnerabilities
• Ability to independently analyze vendor advisories and proof of concept code to confirm vulnerable instances
