Washington Licensed Senior Underwriter

Job Summary

Collaborating closely with business development representatives, the full-time Washington Licensed Senior Underwriter will analyze commercial lines accounts, price business according to guidelines, and maintain strong agency relationships while working in a hybrid or remote capacity.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyzes commercial lines accounts to make informed underwriting decisions based on risk characteristics and exposure analysis
• Communicates underwriting decisions and maintains relationships with agency personnel regarding proposals, declinations, and loss control
• Trains and mentors less experienced underwriting team members while ensuring adherence to pricing and risk selection guidelines

Required qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a related field
• 5-7 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting
• Advanced knowledge of commercial underwriting, including Workers' Compensation, Property, and Casualty lines
• Strong sales and marketing skills with the ability to qualify opportunities and close deals
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
