Job Summary
To support office and field operations, the remote contract Well Planner will focus on well planning and Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) design while delivering design solutions and managing survey data over a 3-month period with potential for extension.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver well plan design solutions and adhere to anti-collision processes and BHA design modeling requirements
- Interface with customers to gather land surveying data, confirm targets, and understand design requirements, particularly for SAGD well planning
- Maintain well planning and BHA design databases, updating well information as drilling progresses and delivering final design-of-service documentation
Required qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline, preferably Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in well planning, including well site experience
- Experience with SAGD (Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage) well planning
- Proficiency with Compass Software (Well Planning)
- Familiarity with AER & MER board requirements
