Job Summary
To support office and field operations, the remote Well Planner will focus on well planning and Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) design, delivering design solutions and managing survey data over a 3-month contract with potential for extension.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver well plan design solutions while adhering to anti-collision processes and BHA design modeling requirements
- Interface with customers to gather land surveying data, confirm targets, and understand design requirements, particularly for SAGD well planning
- Maintain well planning and BHA design databases, updating well information as drilling progresses and generating final design-of-service documentation
Required qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline, preferably Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in well planning, including well site experience
- Experience with SAGD (Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage) well planning
- Proficiency with Compass Software (Well Planning)
- Familiarity with AER & MER board requirements
