Wisconsin Licensed Junior Security Analyst

Job Summary

To support cybersecurity efforts, the part-time Wisconsin Licensed Junior Security Analyst will monitor Security Operations Center dashboards, triage alerts, analyze logs, and document incidents, with the flexibility to work remotely or onsite in Madison, Wisconsin.

Key responsibilities

• Regularly review and monitor Security Operations Center tools to ensure operational health and visibility
• Perform initial triage on alerts from security dashboards and escalate issues as necessary
• Document all security events and investigations accurately within the ticketing system

Required qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field preferred
• Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and operating systems (Windows and Linux)
• Strong attention to detail and curiosity for investigating anomalies in logs
• Ability to document technical findings accurately and collaborate effectively in a team
• Preferred: CISSP or other cybersecurity certifications
