Job Summary
Providing technical medical expertise and support to benefit claims analysts, the full-time Wisconsin Licensed Medical Consultant will evaluate medical records, communicate assessments, and coordinate claim referrals while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records and treatment courses to support benefit claims analysts
- Communicate disability claim assessments and recommendations to medical directors and consulting physicians
- Train new analysts and participate in departmental projects to enhance claim administration efficiency
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field with 5-8 years of experience in critical care, medical-surgical, or orthopedic nursing
- Experience as a physician's assistant or nurse practitioner with a relevant bachelor's or master's degree
- 2-3 years of experience in complex claims assessment and communication with medical professionals
- Strong interest in self-development and demonstrated leadership abilities
- Knowledge of disability insurance or prior experience in insurance claim management
