Work from Home Entry Level QI Coding Specialist in Piscataway

Job Summary

A health information & revenue cycle management company is in need of a Work from Home Entry Level QI Coding Specialist in Piscataway.

Candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Conducting data quality assessments of coding resources for respective accounts and compiling and reporting findings to management and clients
• Ensuring that coding services to clients adhere to the AHA Official Coding Guidelines, Coding Clinics, CPT Assistants, UHDDS definitions, and AHIMA and CMS standards of ethical coding
• Ensuring that coding staff perform services according to the policies and procedures of the client except when in conflict with official coding guidelines

Position Requirements Include:

• Associate degree is required
• Must have 3 to 5 years of H.I.M. and coding experience, with at least 3 years of coding quality assurance experience
• Must have CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H certification
• Must have advanced knowledge of medical terminology (ICD-9-CM coding, MS-DRGs, APCs, POAs, HACs)
• Must have knowledge of documentation standards and improvement methodologies
• Must have knowledge of auditing concepts, principles, statistics and reporting
