Workers Compensation Underwriter
Job Summary
Utilizing underwriting expertise, the full-time Technical Underwriter, Workers Compensation will manage and design strategies for the Workers Compensation book of business, collaborating with global colleagues and business unit heads to ensure portfolio quality and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and adjust underwriting strategies based on performance metrics and data insights
- Act as the primary liaison to assigned underwriting business units, providing consultation and support for underwriting initiatives
- Lead the development of technical underwriting guidelines and best practices while managing complex queries and referrals
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in underwriting, or a high school diploma with 10+ years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of the Workers Compensation line of business and its legal and regulatory environment
- Experience in portfolio management, underwriting, product development, and pricing
- Ability to lead initiatives and navigate through ambiguity
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills, with executive presence to interact across all organizational levels
