z/OS System Programmer
Job Summary
To support large enterprise data centers, the remote z/OS System Programmer will manage hands-on HCD/IOCDS activities, hardware planning, and I/O configuration for IBM Z hardware platforms, including migration and upgrades.
Key responsibilities
- Perform HCD/IOCDS updates and manage I/O configuration, activation, validation, and production cutover for IBM Z hardware
- Support ongoing operations for current-generation IBM Z hardware, particularly Z16 and Z17 platforms
- Oversee large enterprise data center implementations, including multiple CPCs, LPARs, and Parallel Sysplex environments
Required qualifications
- Hands-on experience with HCD, IOCDS, IODF, and IOGEN (IOCP) activities
- Confirmed experience with IBM Z15 to Z16 hardware migration and upgrades
- Familiarity with IBM Hardware Management Console (HMC) administration
- Experience in large enterprise data center environments
- Knowledge of enterprise-scale hardware implementations and configurations
