Zoonotic Diseases Consultant
Job Summary
To support intersectoral preparedness for epidemic and pandemic threats, the full-time Zoonotic Diseases Consultant will provide specialized technical expertise on zoonotic diseases, contribute to One Health planning, and engage in collaborative technical consultations remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialized technical input on zoonotic diseases and threats at the human-animal-environment interface
- Contribute to intersectoral preparedness and response planning, identifying capacities and collaboration opportunities
- Support expert working groups and technical consultations on surveillance, laboratory collaboration, and risk assessment
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field; master's or PhD is desirable
- At least 7 years of professional experience in One Health or zoonotic diseases
- Demonstrated experience in technical areas relevant to zoonotic disease preparedness and response
- Strong technical knowledge of zoonotic diseases and intersectoral surveillance approaches
- Excellent written and spoken English and/or Spanish, with working knowledge of the other language
