Job Summary
A company in the publishing industry is seeking an Associate Editor.
Position Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff reporters and freelancers, helping them to develop story ideas and prioritize coverage
- Edit several articles daily and take the lead on editing newsletters
- Assist reporters in developing story ideas around their beats and the global development calendar, meet daily deadlines, and work with a dedicated team of reporters and editors tackling the big issues in global development
Required Qualifications:
- Can work GMT/CET hours
- 5-7 years of work experience as a journalist/editor
- Strong editing skills; preferably experience managing reporters
- Excellent English writing skills, with the ability to write engaging, compelling, conversational copy
- Digital media expertise
- An undergraduate degree
