Authorization Representative

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Authorization Representative to verify patient eligibility and coordinate insurance benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations in a timely manner
• Collect demographics and clinical data for authorization requests and communicate with insurance companies
• Document authorization requests in the electronic health record and provide customer service to patients and providers

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience
• 1 year of recent relevant experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments
