Inpatient Coder - RHIT/RHIA Required

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Complex Coder for a full-time remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records for billing purposes
• Abstract information from medical records for patient database compilation to support research and decision making
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, reimbursement policies, and accreditation standards

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Medical Record Sciences or completion of a certification program with RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification eligibility
• Certification (RHIT, RHIA, or CCS) must be obtained within one year of employment
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding systems
• Minimum of two years of inpatient coding experience or equivalent is required
• Additional coding experience is preferred
