Job Summary

A company is looking for a Kekchi Interpreter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Relay oral information accurately between speakers of two different languages in consecutive, simultaneous, and sight translation modes
• Facilitate effective communication between parties that do not speak the same language
• Adhere to ethical codes, maintain client confidentiality, and act as a cultural broker when necessary

Required Qualifications:

• Possess native fluency in English and the language requested for the position
• Demonstrate strong cultural awareness and understanding of language as an expression of culture
• Have excellent interpreting skills, including setting the tone of encounters and diffusing conflicts
• Understand and abide by ethical codes and standards of practice for interpreters
• Be detail-oriented, flexible, and have strong organizational skills
