Job Summary
A company is looking for an Inpatient Hospital Based Coder.
Key Responsibilities
- Code and abstract clinical and demographic data for inpatient admissions using standardized coding regulations and guidelines
- Utilize technical coding principles to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10 PCS codes
- Identify and resolve clinical documentation discrepancies to improve quality and accuracy of coding
Required Qualifications
- Certificate program in coding or associate degree in Health Information Management (HIM)
- One year of inpatient coding experience
- Basic knowledge of Windows-based computer software
