Job Summary
A company is looking for a Coding Quality Education Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate staff development to ensure optimal reimbursement and compliance in coding practices
- Conduct internal coding assessments, quality assurance reviews, and provide education for coders and physicians
- Serve as a liaison with external auditors and develop internal coding assessment plans
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- High School Diploma required; Associate Degree preferred
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) required for inpatient auditors
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or CCS required for outpatient auditors
- Minimum of 4 years experience coding complex inpatient and/or outpatient cases in an acute care setting
