The base salary range for a Manager - Data Governance is $79,000 to $114,000. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Manager-Data Governance:

Provides leadership and interacts with many individuals across the enterprise, facilitating various processes while communicating information about standards, procedures, resources, and historical decisions. This position also serves as a liaison between Governance, IT, and business units to identify appropriate individuals to fill domain owner and stewardship roles and assist the individuals in growing into those roles.
Gathers, analyzes, documents, validates and prioritizes the needs of business stakeholders including data intelligence, reporting and business automation. Is responsible for the establishment of Data Governance as a center of excellence through the achievement and advancement of the maturity model.

Essential Duties:

Facilitates the Data Governance processes by defining standards and process, setting policies for data management and associated controls for adherence.
Conducts regular sessions with leaders, domain owners, stewards and business to identify and prioritize work. Facilitates meetings to gain alignment and decision-making for key capabilities and maintain data quality.
Works with multiple departments and senior management to define requirements based on current and future business needs. Develops and manages data and reporting capabilities. Documents and serves as the subject matter expert on business needs and solutions.
Maintains a repository of knowledge assets critical to the success and implementation of data governance and data exchange within the company and with external parties
Conducts ongoing program evaluation, identify opportunities for program improvement, conduct regular lessons learned to refine processes and standards.
Provides leadership, development, and support to department staff by assigning priorities, evaluating outcomes, coaching for performance, addressing human resources issues, and providing guidance.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Leads or is able to lead collaboration across teams on projects and customer issue resolution.
Conducts performance management, coaching, and timekeeping and approves termination recommendations.
Provides employee feedback on a bi-weekly or weekly basis.
Has good understanding of immediate up and down stream business processes.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledgeable in the practices of data management and data management protocols.
Familiar with best practices in data governance including structure, roles, and processes.
Analytical skills encompassing design and development of system solutions and process automation.
Direct experience with project management lifecycle and process improvement methodologies.
Proficient in personal computer and desktop applications, particularly Microsoft Access and Excel.
Excellent time management skills including the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to address a wide range of audiences from senior leadership to analyst and external vendors.
Strong leadership, negotiation and motivation skills.
Strong understanding of Business Operations.
Advanced knowledge of requirements gathering, documentation, process mapping, solutions recommendations and testing techniques and tools.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
2+ years of leadership and/or supervisory experience
3 years of experience in Data Governance or Data Integration roles
Experience working with senior management and interacting with all levels of the organization.
Or, equivalent military experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master's degree or equivalent work experience
Direct experience in the insurance industry
