Remote Observation Medical Coder

Job Summary

A healthcare company has a current position open for a Remote Observation Medical Coder.

Must be able to:

• Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures relative to the patient's health care encounter
• Select the principal diagnosis and principal procedure, along with other diagnoses and procedures using UHDDS definition
• Ensure appropriate DRG assignment

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• CCS, CPC, RHIA or RHIT
• Must know diagnosis, procedure, E/M, charge capture, OBS hour calculation/confirmation process, and injections/infusions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a minimum of 1 years of related coding experience
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding principles and guidelines
• Must pass coding proficiency test
