Job Summary
A healthcare company has a current position open for a Remote Observation Medical Coder.
Must be able to:
- Review medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures relative to the patient's health care encounter
- Select the principal diagnosis and principal procedure, along with other diagnoses and procedures using UHDDS definition
- Ensure appropriate DRG assignment
Must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- CCS, CPC, RHIA or RHIT
- Must know diagnosis, procedure, E/M, charge capture, OBS hour calculation/confirmation process, and injections/infusions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a minimum of 1 years of related coding experience
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS coding principles and guidelines
- Must pass coding proficiency test
