Job Summary

A health services company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommute Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist.

Must be able to:

Abstract required data per facility specifications in a correct manner
Reviews medical record documentation and accurately assigns appropriate ICD-10 diagnoses and procedure codes
Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient accounts

Qualifications for this position include:

Coding Certification Required through AHIMA: CCS, CIC, RHIT or RHIA
Two years’ experience in coding complex inpatient accounts including extended length of stay
Must have advanced working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR, Billing, and more
Must be proficient in Microsoft programs like Excel and Outlook
Must have current coding materials such as CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references
Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines
