Telecommute Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A health services company is searching for a person to fill their position for a Telecommute Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist.

Must be able to:

• Abstract required data per facility specifications in a correct manner
• Reviews medical record documentation and accurately assigns appropriate ICD-10 diagnoses and procedure codes
• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient accounts

Qualifications for this position include:

• Coding Certification Required through AHIMA: CCS, CIC, RHIT or RHIA
• Two years’ experience in coding complex inpatient accounts including extended length of stay
• Must have advanced working knowledge and experience with systems such as EMR, Billing, and more
• Must be proficient in Microsoft programs like Excel and Outlook
• Must have current coding materials such as CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references
• Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines
