Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder II (Inpatient) to work remotely with flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret health record documentation for accurate coding and DRG assignment
  • Calculate MS-DRG, Severity of Illness, and Risk of Mortality levels per coding guidelines
  • Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialist to enhance coding accuracy and documentation quality
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Completion or training in ICD-10 CM/PCS with 95% accuracy required
  • 2 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute hospital setting required
  • AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials (CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC) required upon hire
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in Health Information related field and RHIT or RHIA certification upon hire
