Job Summary
A company is looking for a Medical Coder III.
Key Responsibilities
- Assigns medical codes for inpatient discharges, consultations, and surgical procedures
- Reviews documentation to identify and correct discrepancies in coding
- Collaborates with clinical staff and auditors to ensure coding accuracy and compliance
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or biological sciences, or equivalent certification
- At least one recognized professional coding certification (e.g., CPC, RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- U.S. Citizenship
- Completion of an advanced training course in medical coding or related military training
