Job Summary
A company is looking for a Medical Coder to join their growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical record documentation and accurately code primary/secondary diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding conventions
- Ensure accurate sequencing of diagnoses and procedures and DRG/APC assignment
- Abstract and compile data from medical records for optimal reimbursement and assist with other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Certification as a Coding Specialist
- 2+ years of experience as a Medical Coder
- Knowledge of the No Surprises Act (NSA)
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT systems
