Job Summary
A company is looking for an Outpatient Complex Coder for a full-time remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and code diagnostic and procedural information from patient medical records for billing purposes
- Abstract information for patient databases to support medical research and administrative decision-making
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, reimbursement policies, and regulations
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
- Additional specialty coding certification or 10 years of coding experience required
- One to two years of college or coursework in relevant fields preferred
- Minimum of two years coding experience required
- Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CPC, or CCS required
