Coding Analyst I
Job Summary
A company is looking for a Coding Analyst I to provide expertise in coding for various healthcare programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Review claims to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement according to regulations and contracts
- Log provider appeals and correspond with providers regarding submitted appeals
- Maintain subject-matter expertise and educate providers and staff on coding regulations
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited institution or two years of relevant work experience
- Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office applications
- National professional coding certification preferred, to be obtained within one year of hire
- Two years of coding or auditing experience in a healthcare environment preferred
- Experience with government programs such as Medicare or Medicaid is a plus
