Inpatient Coder IV

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder IV, Inpatient (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze physician/provider documentation in inpatient health records to determine diagnoses and procedures
• Utilize encoder software to assign appropriate coding and ensure accurate hospital reimbursement
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve billing, claims, and denial issues affecting reimbursement

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an AHIMA-approved coding program or Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
• Three years of current acute care or inpatient coding experience required
• Proficiency in using encoding/grouping software and Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines necessary for accurate coding
