Job Summary
A company is looking for a Mandarin Interpreter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relay oral information accurately between speakers of two different languages in consecutive, simultaneous, and sight translation modes
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to published Standards of Practice and Codes of Ethics for Interpreters
- Act as a cultural broker, resolve conflicts, and serve as a linguistic resource
Required Qualifications:
- Native fluency in English and Mandarin
- Strong cultural awareness and ability to mediate intercultural communication
- Excellent interpreting skills, including note-taking and conflict resolution
- Understanding of ethical codes and client confidentiality
- Education in languages, translation, interpretation, or related fields preferred
