Job Summary
A company is looking for a Medical Records Coder II (Inpatient).
Key Responsibilities
- Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 conventions and ensure accurate reimbursement
- Review complex medical records and coordinate the work of subordinate employees while conducting audits
- Consult with physicians and educate them on coding practices and documentation requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Must hold one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or HCS-D
- CCS certification requires one year of coding experience; CPC or HCS-D certification requires two years of coding experience
- No experience required for RHIA and RHIT certifications
- Participation in continuing education programs is necessary to maintain coding knowledge
