Remote General Surgery Physician Coder II

Job Summary

A non-profit health care company is filling a position for a Remote General Surgery Physician Coder II.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

• Sequencing diagnoses and procedure codes
• Reporting any perceived non-compliant practices to the coding leader
• Assigning codes using International Classification of Diseases

Qualifications for this position include:

• CPC, CCA, RHIA, CCS-P, SCP, or RHIT
• Advanced training beyond High School; completion of an accredited program in Medical Coding Specialist
• 2 years of experience in professional coding that includes experiences in physician revenue cycle
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding guidelines
• Intermediate computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office
