Job Summary
A company is looking for a Coding Specialist III - Outpatient Hospital Based Clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Code retrospective outpatient accounts using ICD-10 CM and CPT, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines
- Abstract required data elements and support medical necessity for coding accuracy
- Review accounts in denials work queues, make recommendations, and mentor/train on designated coding service lines
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of acute hospital-based coding experience or equivalent education and experience
- Relevant certifications such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CPC, or similar
- Experience in a remote work environment preferred
- Knowledge of coding guidelines and practices
