Job Summary
A company is looking for an American Sign Language Interpreter.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relay oral information accurately between speakers of different languages in consecutive, simultaneous, and sight translation modes
- Facilitate effective communication between parties that do not speak the same language
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to ethical codes and industry standards
Qualifications:
- Possess native fluency in English and the requested language
- Demonstrate strong cultural awareness and intercultural mediation skills
- Exhibit excellent interpreting skills, including listening and note-taking
- Understand and abide by ALTA policies on client confidentiality and interpreters' code of ethics
- Have a degree in languages, translation, interpretation, or related fields, or equivalent experience
