Key Responsibilities
- Reviews and prioritizes work assignments to meet revenue cycle goals
- Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes using classification systems and coding guidelines
- Audits coding quality and provides feedback as needed
Required Qualifications
- Certification as CCS, CPC, CIC, COC, RHIT, or RHIA
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five years of hospital-based coding experience
- Must pass an advanced coder competency exam with a minimum score of 95%
- Proficiency in electronic health records and encoder systems
