Remote Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Prebill Inpatient Coder Specialist to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and coordinate corrections on the 3M OCE/EAPG report based on patient records
• Combine related accounts according to payer requirements and maintain accuracy in claims generation
• Maintain knowledge of coding systems and participate in continuing education to ensure compliance and proficiency

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician based (CCS-P) credential
• Completion of a coding certificate program or significant coding experience prior to earning CCS or CCS-P credential
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) with an associate's degree or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) with a bachelor's degree
• 3-5 years of recent acute care hospital outpatient coding experience
• Experience with the 3M OCE report or charge capture determination in complex departments
