Job Summary

An integrated health system has a current position open for a Remote Hospital Coding Specialist I.

Core Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Reviewing clinical documentation and diagnostic result
  • Extracting data and applying appropriate International Classification of Diseases
  • Accurately coding outpatient conditions and procedures

Must meet the following requirements for consideration:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Coding Degree or Diploma program, or current enrollment in program
  • One year of coding and reimbursement experience in a multi-specialty clinic/hospital setting
  • Or completion of coding degree or diploma will be considered
  • Knowledge of accepted medical abbreviations and their meanings
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant and all official coding guidelines
